This privacy policy explains how Hot Flue uses any personal information which we collect about you when you use this website, www.hotflue.co.uk or use our services.

We are General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant and encrypt all the data which we hold electronically. We are exempt from registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

The lawful bases which we use for processing personal data are ‘consent’ and ‘contract’ and these allow us to communicate with customers and fulfil our service obligations to them. 

1 - What information do we collect about you? We collect information about you when you contact us or engage us to provide you with services. This information may include your name, address, telephone number and email address. We may also record on sweeping certificates which are completed on site, the height of your chimney, the type, make and model of any appliance used, and any defects which exist. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

2 - How will we use the information about you? We collect information about you to process your enquiry, engage us to provide services, to manage the business/customer relationship which exists between us and to maintain contact with you in the future to update you about the services we provide, or supply you with information which we think may be of interest to you. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3 – Marketing. We would like to send you information about our services or other information, which we feel, would benefit, or be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date. 6 - Other websites. Our website contains links to other websites including NACS, HETAS, Burn Right, London Fire Brigade, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others. 7 - Other web services we use. We use various web services to contact our subscribers and gather statistical information on user behaviour to allow us to improve our services. Wix is our website provider and Microsoft Office 365 and GSuite are our email providers. Data, emails and their contents are stored in Wix, Microsoft and Google data centres and may also be stored on company computers under multi-layered password protection. For ease of administration and secure deletion emails are kept in designated email folders, which store information that can identify personal details, which may include title, first name, surname, contact address, contact telephone numbers, contact email addresses (including CC and BCC addresses), company website, dates and times, narrative(s) (which may include personal details), all or parts of previous emails (email chain), details of, or reference to 3rd parties, attachments and links. Google Analytics; allows us to gather and store statistical information about our website visitor’s behaviour whilst it can identify the user’s country and IP address it does not store any information that would, on its own, allow us to identify individual users of this service.
